Party Bucks
Learning to dance can be expensive. But it doesn't have to be. It all depends on your approach. At I've Got Rhythm, we genuinely desire our students to develop a passion and love for ballroom. Cost, although a reality, should not be an issue. That's why we encourage our students to adopt a balanced approach to learning and offer several strategic incentives to make their experience in ballroom as affordable as possible.
One of our primary incentives is IGR Party Bucks. Whenever a student attends a group class or private lesson, he automatically receives $5 in Party Bucks. These bucks can then be used like cash towards admission to our weekly parties. They can be used on an individual basis, or they can be saved towards the purchase of a discounted IGR dance card for even greater savings. But here's the catch. Party Bucks are only good towards weekly practice parties.
But why restrict Party Bucks to parties? We do this for the benefit of our students. Typically, students take an "either...or" approach. They either attend dance lessons or weekly parties. Students who only attend dance lessons miss out on the real experience of ballroom, where they meet and learn from other dancers, where they gain practical ballroom skills by learning to maneuver on crowded floors, and most importantly of all where they have fun and enjoy putting into practice all that they've learned in their lessons. On the other hand, students who only attend weekly parties get plenty of ballroom experience but very rarely see any significant progress in their dancing for lack of proper instruction.
Party Bucks are designed to give "lesson-only" students incentive to go to weekly parties and "party-only" students incentive to take lessons. How? Consider this balanced plan of attack. A couple goes to one private lesson, one group lesson, and one party each week. They receive $10 in Party Bucks for the private lesson and $10 in Party Bucks for the group class and then use these towards the weekly party. How much does the party cost them? Nothing! The Party Bucks take care of it.
So effectively, for regular weekly party attenders, it only costs $10 extra per week to add a progressive group class (or $5 for a single), $35 extra to add a weekly private lesson (or $40 for a single), or $45 extra per week to add both. Why not invest in lessons? Likewise, couples attending one private or group lesson per week get into weekly parties half-price, and those attending one of each get in free. Why not stop by a party or two?
In short, your hard-earned dollars will go much further towards an enjoyable and educational ballroom experience if you adopt a balanced learning strategy for your dancing. And that's what we want. We know that participating in all aspects of studio life results in well-rounded and enduring ballroom dancers, and IGR Party Bucks naturally reflect our desire for students to adopt just such an approach.
